Support
Smart Gadgets Support
Requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and a Mac running macOS 14 or later.
Quick start
- 01
Install the notarized Smart Gadgets Receiver on your Mac.
- 02
Open Receiver and allow it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility.
- 03
Open Smart Gadgets on iPhone and select the discovered Mac.
- 04
Scan the Mac QR invitation or enter the six-digit code to pair once.
If connection fails
- Allow Local Network and Bluetooth in both apps.
- Join the same Wi‑Fi and avoid guest-network device isolation.
- If an office or school network blocks Bonjour, use the Bluetooth app link.
- Forget the saved device in both apps and pair again.
Accessibility permission
Smart Gadgets Receiver needs Accessibility to post pointer and keyboard input. After changing permission, quit Receiver completely and reopen it.
If an older Receiver remains in the list, remove it and add the current copy from Applications.
If movement feels slippery
- Select the Precision pointer profile.
- Reduce pointer speed one step and test small circular movement.
- Distinguish scroll momentum after finger release from pointer movement.
- When the phone is warm, use Low Power mode and reduce feedback strength.
If multi-touch is not recognized
- Place every finger inside the trackpad input region at the same time.
- Do not start a gesture in the Dynamic Island or top safety-control region.
- Use a short, deliberate three- or four-finger swipe and a clear five-finger spacing change.
- Check that macOS Mission Control keyboard shortcuts still use their defaults.
When software cannot be installed
The dedicated Smart Gadgets HID Bridge is designed to translate iPhone input into standard USB keyboard and mouse reports without installing software on the work PC. Its firmware and secure pairing cannot be replaced by a generic Bluetooth or USB dongle.
HID quick setup
- Connect the dedicated Bridge to the PC USB port.
- Press and hold the HID hot button on iPhone.
- Scan the Bridge QR code and approve pairing once.
This option will be released only after electrical, security, and compatibility validation. Use Mac Receiver with the current release.
